Mr Cousins has never known why his wedding suit was following him all over the years from house to house and there never was a thought to throw it away. Finally, now he got the reason. His wife started losing her memory. So to celebrate their 60-years wedding anniversary, he wore it, believing the suit will bring some old memories.
Surprisingly, it did, and Mrs Cousins noticed the suit. It’s necessary to admit, it fitted the man well as if no time had passed.
“I don’t really know why I kept it, it just seems to have followed me around all these years from house to house,” said Mr Cousins.
To celebrate the occasion, they had a party at Sutton Village Care Home, East Yorks.
Over the years of their marriage, they gained seven children, the couple also has 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. And the couple never doubted they would be together.
Mr Cousins admitted: “When we started playing in the street, we already knew we would be together.” Here’s the secret of their marriage: “You have to work it out together. My advice to young couples today is just to stick it out. We all have our arguments, but you have to work at the relationship.”
