Paul McCartney touring Australia for the first time in over two decades

Paul McCartney is set to tour Australia for the first time in over 20 years.

The Beatles icon has added shows Down Under to his ongoing One On One Tour in a Facebook Live announcement, and according to reports, the rocker will perform four concerts there in December (17).
McCartney was set to perform in Melbourne in 2002, but cancelled the show following a bombing in Bali.

“Like many who have a deep fondness for Australia, I have been shocked and saddened by the recent terrible events in Bali,” a press release in 2002 read. “My heart goes out to all who have been affected by this tragedy.

“As a mark of respect to both the families who have lost loved ones and to the families of the injured, I have decided to postpone my planned concert in Melbourne as this is not the appropriate time for a rock show.”

He last performed in the country in 1993 during his New World Tour.

“I haven’t had a chance to get down there for years,” he tells News Corp. “I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time, finally it’s happening.”
